Matthew 6:25-34 (KJV)

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

This passage has always been able to put things in perspective for me. Sometimes we miss the little things that should give us great confidence and faith in God. “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet you heavenly Father feedeth them.”. This is demonstrated to us on a daily basis. So then I ask myself who do I worry, why do I fear? The enemy seeks to use those very moment that we see no way out to attack. That attack starts in the mind. The enemy will make us believe that nobody cares, that there is no way out and that God has forgotten us. Once we give into those thoughts, they will then become actions. Actions that can cause us to miss out on our blessings. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 Our faith is the very thing that bares witness to the power of God. For in our faith comes revelation, power, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. When you read on in Hebrews it goes on to speak of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Abraham had that faith that saw beyond this earthly world, he was looking towards heaven and he taught his children in that same faith. When we have heaven in our view we will act accordingly. Elijah’s faith took him from glory to glory without seeing death. This faith was and is alive today. We have to be able to look past those things that are right in front of us and focus on those things above. That’s when things will start to happen.

Lord I am asking and praying that you give me the strength and power to press on. You said you would not put more on us than we could bear and I trust and believe that you will see me through. I give no power over my circumstances to the devil, for I know that you Lord are in complete control. I believe my victory is ahead and I’m pressing towards the mark of the high calling. Lord I pray for those that are reading this and may be going through something that they feel they can’t bear. I pray that they find encouragement in you to continue on in your will and allow you to direct their path. I pray for direction, healing and understanding. Amen.

I must press on!
