“And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou has rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the coomandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.” 1 Samuel 15:22-24

Saul disobeyed specific instructions from God, during his reign as king, concerning the Amalekites. Saul was to take them out and destroy everything that they possessed but he did not obey. He kept the material things and offered up a burnt sacrifice to the Lord. Obedience is better than any prayer, praise or worship that could ever be offered up to God.

When we hear the voice of God speak, we need to be obedient and move. We can not sit in fear, wondering “what are the people going to say”. The naysayers do not want the vision that God has given to be fulfilled. If God has given you a vision and you can’t sit in fear, you must step out and allow God to bring it to pass. He will see it through to completion. God will bless your obedience.

“My son, forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:1-6

We must be about our father’s business. You can be holding onto a vision that may be keeping someone from their breakthrough. “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19 Jesus was our perfect example of obedience. He knew the vision and purpose that God had for his life; he continued in the steps that had already been ordered. His purpose was not leading him to death but to life and that more abundantly. Your purpose will not lead you to defeat but to the promise that God has given to those who will believe and obey in his word.

Thank you Jesus! This has truly ministered to me and I pray that it touches you in a way that brings inspiration. Now Go!!!!
